Alpha Phi Omega strives to develop our members into leaders through service to others. This approach builds the leadership skills of our members while fulfilling a need on campus, in the community, and for the youth in our communities, therefore leaving a lasting impact on our nation.
Be a Leader.
Beyond our dedication to service and leadership, Alpha Phi Omega places a strong emphasis on friendship and unity. We believe that great experiences are generated through not only serving others but also through building strong bonds with our peers. APO encourages an inclusive, non-discriminating atmosphere that is positive, encouraging, and safe.
Be a Friend.
Be of Service.
Our service program is composed of several different factors. Not only do we participate in projects weekly, but we also participate in a wide range of reoccurring and one-time projects all over the city of Vancouver. For instance, we aim to serve food at soup kitchens, while also volunteering at large scale events such as marathons and community clean-ups.
It is the VISION of Alpha Phi Omega to be recognized as the premier service-based leadership development organization.
It is the MISSION of Alpha Phi Omega to prepare campus and community leaders through service.
The OBJECTIVES of Alpha Phi Omega are Share, Grow, Improve, and Invest.
Alpha Phi Omega is an international coeducational service organization founded on the principles of Leadership, Friendship, and Service. It provides its members the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they volunteer on their campus, in their community, for the nation, and for the organization. With more than 400,000 members on over 375 campuses, Alpha Phi Omega continues to provide more service on more campuses than any other collegiate service organization.
Alpha Phi Omega Alpha Canada is excited to be the very first Canadian chapter of the organization at the University of British Columbia, which has the largest Greek system in Canada. This is an honour for UBC, and it has been determined that the creation of this organization would contribute to establishing a positive image of Greek life in our community.
